2009 Kitchen Innovations™ Award
For a second year in a row, Advanced Composite Materials (ACM) was awarded the prestigious National Restaurant Association’s Kitchen Innovations™ Award for 2009. The company received its second KI™ Award for introducing the Silar® Microwave Flatstone oven insert into the marketplace.
The Silar® Microwave Flatstone, a ceramic composite microwave heatable oven insert, creates an entirely new way to speed-bake fresh dough and flatbreads. Silar® changes the speed-quality baking paradigm and introduces an entirely new technology: microwave-conduction baking. In the past when baking fresh dough or flatbreads, you had to wait for the traditional slow-bake cycle to end. The microwave baking technology of Silar® speed-bakes fresh doughs and flatbreads to perfection. For example, a fresh-dough pizza can be speed-baked in 2-3 minutes.
The Silar® Microwave Flatstone was featured in the Kitchen Innovations™ Pavilion at the 90th Annual National
Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show. The NRA Show is the largest single gathering of restaurant, foodservice, and lodging professionals in the Western Hemisphere, and was held May 16-19, 2009 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
